FERRERE counsels DFC on a USD 565 million financing

FERRERE has advised the U.S. International Development Finance Corporation (DFC) on a USD 565 million financing granted to the Serra Verde group, a company involved in the production and commercialization of rare earths.

The funds will be used to refinance existing credit facilities and to optimize and expand the Serra Verde mine, located in Goiás, Brazil.

The loan was structured in two tranches: an initial tranche of up to USD 465 million and an incremental tranche of up to USD 100 million, with a maximum tenor of 12 years.

In Uruguay, FERRERE was responsible for reviewing the transaction and advising on the loan’s guarantees.

The FERRERE team advising DFC was led by partner Diego Rodríguez (pictured) and included Cecilia Trujillo, Valentín Pérez, Mauro Lanfranco, and Sofía Fernández.
