Ferrere opens office in Guayaquil

Uruguay-headquartered law firm Ferrere announced the opening of an office in Guayaquil, its third in Ecuador.

The Guayaquil office will be headed by newly-hired associates Ernesto Weisson and Ricardo Menéndez while Javier Robalino, Ferrere managing partner in Ecuador, will be closely involved in running operations from Quito.

“The launch in Guayaquil is a strategic landmark in the solid development we have achieved since the firm’s opening in Ecuador,” assured Javier Robalino in the announcement. “It is a natural, long-planned step in the market, where from day one we have had important clients who were demanding more geographic proximity.”

Guayaquil is Ecuador’s largest city and key economic hub, with 70% of the country’s exports and nearly 83% of imports passing through the city and its port.

Ferrere now has over 200 attorneys in Bolivia, Ecuador, Paraguay and Uruguay. The firm arrived in Ecuador in 2015 and is now home to over 40 lawyers across offices in Quito, Manta and now Guayaquil.
