Ferrere represents Itaú Unibanco in acquisition of Prex and Paigo
Ferrere Uruguay has counselled Itaú Unibanco on the acquisition of stakes in fintechs Prex and Paigo
Ferrere, through its team in Uruguay, has represented Brazilian bank Itaú Unibanco in the acquisition of stakes in local fintechs Prex and Paigo.
The advice included the legal due diligence process of the Uruguayan companies, and the coordination of this process by other law firms in the other jurisdictions involved.
The transaction, signed in March, is pending regulatory approval.
Fintech Prex is active in the payment services sector, with a presence in Uruguay, Argentina and Peru. For its part, Paigo is a key player in the consumer lending sector in Uruguay.
