Figueiredo & Velloso announces new partner
Figueiredo & Velloso Advogados has announced the arrival of Raphael Marcelino (pictured) as a new partner in the corporate area (advisory and litigation) and head of the firm’s Rio de Janeiro office.
The lawyer joins Figueiredo & Velloso with more than two decades of experience in large law firms and boutique offices, with a strong practice in Business Law, Civil Law and Administrative Sanctions Law. Throughout his career, he has also been an advisor to a Supreme Court Justice and the legal director and board member of a multinational construction company.
In addition to his solid professional career, Marcelino has a relevant academic career. He holds a doctorate in State Law from the University of São Paulo (USP), a master’s degree in Law, State and Constitution from the University of Brasília (UnB) and is a post-doctoral candidate in Procedural Law at the State University of Rio de Janeiro (UERJ).
Marcelino was a postgraduate lecturer at UERJ and at the Rio de Janeiro State School of the Judiciary. He has also taught at prestigious institutions such as UnB, IDP, IESB and ESA. He is the author of several books and articles in different areas of law.
