FMJ Advogados rehires Gustavo Ladislau as partner

Focaccia & Mello Junqueira Advogados (FMJ Advogados) has announced that Gustavo Ladislau is returning to the firm as partner, reinforcing its Corporate Advisory, Corporate Law, M&A and Wealth and Estate Planning practices. Ladislau brings specialized experience in corporate law, contracts, mergers and acquisitions, capital markets, and wealth and succession planning, having advised corporate clients on complex reorganizations, M&A transactions, new business structuring and capital markets deals. He also has experience in the infrastructure and energy sectors, having led power generation projects, EPC and O&M contracts, as well as financing and securitization structures.

Ladislau’s professional trajectory spans both legal and financial roles. As Legal Manager at Sucesspar, he held direct responsibility for corporate, contractual, real estate and capital markets matters, and led merger, acquisition, restructuring and fundraising projects. He previously spent two years at Lefosse, where he handled complex M&A operations, corporate consulting and strategic infrastructure projects focused on the energy sector. More recently, he spent a year as Portfolio Manager at Walter Scott in New York, performing discretionary portfolio management and fundamental analysis of Latin American companies, an experience that added an investor-oriented and international financial market perspective to his legal practice.

Ladislau holds a law degree from Universidade Presbiteriana Mackenzie and an LL.M. in Capital Markets from Insper. His academic and professional background also includes a professional exchange program at McMillan in Toronto, focused on corporate law, alongside specializations at Leiden University in the Netherlands, in Business and Law, and at the University of San Diego in the United States, in Entertainment and Sports Law. This combination of academic and practical experience supports his work on international contracts, foreign investment matters, registrations with the Central Bank, and the structuring of cross-border transactions involving international investors.
