Four law firms behind the reorganisation of Chile´s largest electricity distributor

Carey; Cariola, Diez, Pérez-Cotapos & Cía; Claro & Cía and Philippi, Prietocarrizosa & Uría have advised on the corporate reorganisation of Chilectra.

Chilectra is Chile’s largest electricity distribution company and a subsidiary of Enersis, which is part of Italian energy multinational Enel. As a result of this deal, Chilectra was divided into two companies: Chilectra Chile and Chilectra Américas. This operation marks a major reorganisation of the Latin American assets of Enel.

Carey advised Chilectra, with partners Alfonso Silva and Salvador Valdés leading the team. Enel instructed Cariola, Diez, Pérez-Cotapos & Cia with partners Francisco Javier Illanes and Juan Antonio Parodi taking lead roles on the transaction.

Claro & Cía partners Cristóbal Eyzaguirre, Felipe Larraín and José Luis Ambrosy advised Endesa while Enersis chose a line-up from Philippi, Prietocarrizosa & Uría as counsel on this deal, with partners Juan Francisco Gutiérrez and Federico Grebe at the helm.
