García & Bodán instructed on Honduras sovereign issuance
Central American law firm García & Bodán reprised its role advising the Honduras Secretary of Finance (SEFIN) on the country´s $700 million sovereign bond issuance.
The placement obtained a B2 rating from Moody´s and a rate of 6.25% at a maturity term of 10 years. This is Honduras´ first international issuance in three years. The sovereign worked with the Bank of New York Mellon on this deal
Honduras managing partner Vanessa Oquelí and partner Ricardo Duarte led the García & Bodán team advising Honduras. The law firm has assisted Honduras in three previous bond issues.
The sovereign retained Arnold & Porter Kaye Scholer as US counsel.
The Bank of New York Mellon instructed López Rodezno & Asociados in Honduras.
Bank of America Merrill Lynch and Citi were the underwriters of the transaction and instructed Shearman & Sterling.
