Garrigues expands in Mexico with Kuri Breña partner hire

Gerardo Lemus, who has extensive experience in M&A and corporate law, has joined Garrigues in Mexico.

Lemus has broad expertise in major acquisitions of shares and assets involving Mexican and foreign companies, including private equity investment funds. In recent years, his practice has focused on the sale and purchase, financing, marketing and operation of telecommunications towers in Mexico. Prior to joining Garrigues, Lemus was a partner at Mexican law firm Kuri Breña, Sánchez Ugarte y Aznar. 

His arrival follows the hire of Santiago Chacón, who joined as a partner in the tax practice in 2015. Chacón has wide-ranging expertise in the areas of tax planning of investments in Mexico, having spent the majority of his professional career at EY. 

With these hires, the Mexican office of Garrigues is now home to twenty lawyers, including five partners.
