Garrigues hires Joe Tirado in London
Garrigues has recruited Joe Tirado for its global arbitration practice. He is considered a leading arbitration practitioner and joins the Spanish law firm a few months after his departure from Winston & Strawn’s London office.
Tirado will be the first UK-qualified lawyer at Garrigues in London. His experience spans over 20 years, with a strong focus in Latin America.
At Garrigues, he will co-head the international arbitration practice group along with Madrid-based partner Carlos de los Santos, running a team of five partners and 15 associates.
Tirado was global co-chair of international arbitration at Winston & Strawn and left earlier in 2016 after less than four years. Prior to that, he was a partner at legacy firm Norton Rose (now Norton Rose Fulbright). His career also included practicing at legacy firms Lovells and DLA before joining Baker Botts, where he became partner 2004.
