G&B represents First Cash in purchase and sale of Empeños al Instante assets

García & Bodán Guatemala has represented First Cash in the purchase and sale of assets of the company Empeños al Instante, in order to strengthen its presence in the country.

The assistance involved the review and adaptation of the Asset Purchase Agreement in accordance with Guatemalan law, the negotiation of the terms of such agreement to protect the interests of First Cash, the evaluation of the intellectual property aspects derived from the acquired assets, as well as the tax and accounting implications associated with the transaction.

First Cash Financial Services is an international pawnshop operator in the United States, and also operates in some Latin American countries, with more than 2,800 retail pawn and consumer lending locations in 25 US states. It has a strong presence in Mexico, Guatemala, El Salvador and Colombia. The company focuses on providing microfinance primarily through pawning.
