GC represents Crédito Maestro in $150m credit facility

González Calvillo has counselled Grupo Crédito Maestro, as borrower, in connection with the execution of a $150 million MXN credit facility granted by CI Banco.

The proceeds of this transaction are intended to be used to finance the loan portfolio of Crédito Maestro’s subsidiaries.

This is a complex financing, as the negotiations for its execution were carried out in record time and required the structuring of the various contracts involved, including a credit agreement, a management services agreement and a master management services agreement, as well as the required collateral package in the form of a management trust, source of payment and guarantee.

Crédito Maestro, founded in 2002, is a Mexican company dedicated to providing cash loans to Mexican government workers, pensioners and retirees, offering them the benefit of payment through payroll deduction.

GC’s team was led by partner José Ignacio Rivero (pictured left), with the support of senior associate Jacinto Ávalos Capín (pictured right), associate Luis Ernesto Brieño Jiménez and law clerk Dalia Stofenmacher.
