Guerrero Olivos appoints María Paz Pulgar as new partner

Guerrero Olivos has announced the addition of María Paz Pulgar (pictured) as a new partner to strengthen the firm’s mining sector, effective 1 August.

The aim of this appointment is to create synergies and take advantage of the multidisciplinary experience that the mining team has. In this regard, the new partner comments: “The idea is to work together with the specialised departments that are already operational on aspects related to environmental issues, permits and litigation.”

María Paz has played a key role in the Chilean mining industry, where women are increasingly prominent. A lawyer from the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile, she is noted for her work in legislative and constitutional matters related to this field. She has been active in the Chilean Australian Chamber of Commerce (Auscham) and is a member of Women in Mining. Prior to joining the firm, she worked as counsel at Philippi Prietocarrizosa Ferrero DU & Uría, and as an associate at Baker & McKenzie.

With this appointment, Guerrero Olivos will be consolidated with a team of 84 lawyers and 115 collaborators.
