Guerrero Olivos on call for third stage in CGE’s restructuring

Chilean law firm Guerrero Olivos advised utility company CGE on completing a 4-way merger of its energy distribution companies.

Compañía General de Electricidad (CGE), the Chilean utility company, started its reorganisation plan in 2016 when it was acquired by Gas Natural Fenosa. Guerrero Olivos has been instructed throughout the process, which seeks to simplify the corporate structure of CGE and separate different business lines.

On this ocassion, the transaction included the merger of energy distribution companies CGE Distribución, CONAFE and EMELAT within CGE, a deal which spanned three separate regions of Chile.
