H&K counsels RE companies on acquisition of share capital of PTAV

Holland & Knight Mexico has counselled real estate developers American Leisure Properties, Alimentos GND, and Inmobiliaria Danmada II, on the acquisition of the entire share capital of Promociones Turísticas AV (PTAV).

This transaction closed on 17 July, which involved the strategic acquisition, design and construction of properties in popular tourist destinations, as the company whose capital was acquired specialises in tourism. The objective of the developers is to create attractive and comfortable accommodations, such as hotels, resorts, vacation rentals or other hospitality establishments, that meet the preferences and desires of the tourist market.

PTAV is a Mexican holding company that manages various subsidiaries in multiple industries, including the tourism sector in Mexico. It is the holding company and sole operator of Marina Costa Baja, which operates Marina Costa Baja, located in Puerta de Cortez in La Paz, Baja California Sur. The marina uses state-of-the-art technology and has capacity for 250 boats ranging from 30 to 225 feet, as well as dry storage with 50 berths for boats up to 35 feet. It serves as the gateway to the Sea of Cortez and is considered one of the best marinas in the Americas.

H&K’s team was led by partner Xavier Mangino (pictured), with support from senior counsel Elena Ibarrola, associates Julia Segovia, Alejandro Briceño and Cristóbal Ortiz, and law clerk José Gabriel Mangino.
