H&K Mexico opens Construction practice
Holland & Knight Mexico has announced the launch of a new Construction-focused practice, which will be led by partner Claudio Rodríguez (pictured) in Mexico City.
The practice area has been launched as a result of the arrival of the United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA) and recent disruptions in global supply chains, as well as increased foreign investment in Mexico. In addition, it was noted that the practice has a strong reputation at the firm in the US.
Claudio Rodríguez commented: “We’ve seen a wave of interest from international manufacturers who want to establish operations here […] It’s important for them to understand that most significant building projects in Mexico are driven by a bidding process managed by the federal and state governments. There are all sorts of compliance issues that need to be dealt with, which is why experience and relationships are crucial.”
This area will serve the needs of builders and construction managers, government contractors, project owners, investors and other industry participants.
Claudio Rodríguez has extensive experience advising clients on infrastructure matters in Mexico and, prior to joining Holland & Knight, served as general counsel and legal manager for global European companies in Mexico and Latin America.
