Juan David Mina and Diego Carrión become partners at Cuatrecasas

Cuatrecasas has added two new partners in Latin America. Juan David Mina (pictured left) joins the Mexico City office as a partner in the Tax practice, while Diego Carrión (pictured right) joins the Corporate and M&A practice in Lima, Peru, which will now have a team of three partners and six associates.

Juan David Mina holds a law degree from the Universidad Autónoma de México and is a certified public accountant from the Escuela Bancaria y Comercial. He is a member of the Mexican Institute of Public Accountants. He has more than 14 years of experience advising clients on complex cross-border transactions, as well as structuring investments, financings and M&A, mainly in the energy and infrastructure, financial, fintech, real estate and Private Equity and Venture Capital sectors. Prior to joining the firm, he was a partner at KPMG, an associate at Creel García-Cuéllar Aiza y Enríquez, and a tax advisor at Chevez Ruiz Zamarripa and Ortiz Sosa y Asociados. Juan David focuses his practice in corporate taxation and the Tax area in multiple corporate restructurings, issuance of securities in the capital and debt markets, project finance, tax controversy, estate planning, among others.

Diego Carrión holds a Law Degree (magna cum laude) from the Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú and a Master in Law from Harvard Business School. He has extensive experience advising companies and investment funds on Corporate, M&A and Private Equity matters, as well as in the financial and Stock Market areas. He has been involved in major M&A transactions in the New York office of Sidley Austin. He is currently a professor at the Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú, has written several articles on his area of specialization and actively participates in lectures and seminars on Corporate Law for students and lawyers.
