KLA announces 4 new partners and strengthens practice areas
KLA has announced the arrival of Flávia Marcilio, Livia Siviero Huh, José Davi Fidalgo and Luanda Backheuser (pictured from left to right) as new partners at the firm. With extensive expertise in real estate, environmental, agribusiness and capital markets law, the partners will work in specific practice areas and will integrate KLA’s multidisciplinary real estate practice.
Meet the new partners
Flávia Marcilio has been working in the areas of Public, Environmental and Real Estate Law for 30 years, focusing on Agribusiness, Forestry Investments, Mining and complex environmental issues and projects with an emphasis on sustainability related to Real Estate Businesses. Her environmental practice covers several fronts, such as the management of assets with environmental liabilities and contaminated areas, as well as the intersection of environmental law in regulated sectors such as infrastructure, life sciences and animal health. She graduated from PUC Campinas and has an MBA in Business Law from FGV.
José Davi Fidalgo, whose practice also focuses on Environmental and Real Estate Law, has experience in assisting industries, financial institutions and agribusiness in obtaining environmental licenses and interfacing with public bodies, as well as structuring businesses, real estate investment funds and operations involving the Carbon Market. A graduate of Mackenzie, he specializes in Real Estate Registration Law from the National School of Registrars, Real Estate Law from Secovi, and Environmental Compliance with Technical and Legal Requirements from CETESB.
Luanda Backheuser has extensive experience in the Real Estate and Agribusiness sectors, in cases involving the structuring of deals involving rural and urban real estate, investment funds, as well as the analysis of land situations and their regularization. She graduated from PUC-SP and specialized in Carbon Market and Third Sector Law at FGV. She is a member of the Board of Directors and Coordinator of the Rural Property and Agrarian Contracts Committee of the Brazilian Institute of Real Estate Law (IBRADIM), as well as participating in MDDI – Mesa de Debates de Direito Imobiliário.
Livia Siviero Huh, who works in the Capital Markets, has been working in the area of Structured Operations and Real Estate Business since 2010.She has worked for large companies in the sector and has experience in debt and equity transactions, securitization, investment funds and advising on Assets. A graduate of the Federal University of Paraná, she holds an LL.M. in Financial and Capital Markets Law from Insper and a certificate in Financial Markets from Yale University, as well as a specialization in Environmental Law and Sustainability from PUC-SP.
