Leffose Advogados and Pinheiro Neto advise on Britvic deal

Leffose Advogados advised the Brazilian subsidiary of Britvic on the company´s US$173 million acquisition of Brazilian squash manufacturer Ebba (Empresa Brasileira de Bebidas e Alimentos SA).

 

Pinheiro Neto Advogados advised Ebba’s shareholders on the deal.

The deal, which closed on 22July, gives Britvic a stronger foothold in the lucrative Brazilian soft drink market ahead of the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio.

A Britvic statement said the Acquisition will give the company “immediate access to the sixth largest soft drinks market globally (R$84.3bn as of 2014)”. 

Britvic, which is listed on the UK´s FTSE 250 is looking to expand outside the UK after a loss of market share at home.

Revenue in the UK declined 0.8 per cent in the third quarter to July 5, although overall group revenue was up 1 per cent in the last year to £322.3m.
