Lefosse advise Seara on the acquisition of Mada Araújo

Lefosse acted as legal counsel to Seara Alimentos on the acquisition by Seara and certain individuals of quotas representing 100% of the capital stock of Mada Araújo Asset & Port Management, owned by Marco Antônio Araújo.

The company holds the position of temporary lessee of an area located in the Port of Itajaí, located in the Municipality of Itajaí, State of Santa Catarina, being responsible for the handling and storage of containerized cargo and general cargo, due to its classification and qualification in Simplified Selection
Process nº 01/2023-ANTAQ and execution of the Contract for Transitional Use of Public Area and Infrastructure entered into with the Ministry of Ports and Airports, with the intervention of National Waterway Transportation Agency (ANTAQ).

Seara, part of the JBS Group, which is currently the largest global food producer, aims to take over the operation of the container area at the Port of Itajaí, State of Santa Catarina, with the consummation of the transaction. This will ensure the flow of its meat production abroad. The Port of Itajaí is the main port in the south of the State of Santa Catarina and the second largest in Brazil for container handling.
