Lexincorp instructed on renewable energy transaction in Guatemala

Central American law firm Lexincorp advised Grupo Kin on matters pertaining to the operational start of several renewable energy projects in Guatemala.

Grupo Kin is made of four energy organizations in Guatemala: electricity distributor MEL (Mayoristas de Electricidad) and renewable energy companies Ixtal, Xolhuitz and Tuncaj.

Hidroelectrica Xolhuitz started operating a hydroelectric plant which generates 2.3 Mega Watts on March 2017 went online in May 2017. Solar farms Pedro de Alvarado (1 MW), La Avellana (1.5 MW), Taxisco and El Jobo, operated by Tuncaj, also started operations in March 2017 and combined will generate over 5 mega watts.

Partner Leslie Henry Ayau led the Lexincorp team which advised the energy group on all the operation permits, land acquisition documents and establishing the documentation for the financing of the project.
