Liberty Global instructs Shearman & Sterling on Cable & Wireless acquisition
Shearman & Sterling is advising Liberty Global, the international cable company, on its acquisition of Cable & Wireless, a communications and entertainment provider operating in the Caribbean and Latin America.
The deal, valued at $8.2 billion, is still subject to regulatory and shareholders’ approval.
The transaction will result in Liberty Global becoming the leading consumer and B2B communications provider in Latin America and the Caribbean, with 10 million video, broadband, telephone and mobile subscription services.
Liberty Global reported operating income of $1.7 billion for the first three quarters of 2015.
