Luiz Carlos Júnior joins André Menescal as partner
Luiz Carlos Júnior has left Hapvida after 18 years to join André Menescal Advogados as partner and COO. The Ceará-based firm, which is currently expanding nationally, gains a lawyer with deep in-house experience at Brazil’s largest health and dental insurance provider.
During his tenure at Hapvida, Luiz Carlos progressed through the roles of junior attorney, legal manager, and corporate director. In his most recent position, he directly oversaw 90 professionals — including seven managers — and coordinated the activities of 14 law firms involved in Hapvida’s operations.
As COO of André Menescal Advogados, Luiz Carlos Júnior will be responsible for overseeing daily operations and translating long-term strategies into day-to-day actions, with the aim of ensuring the firm operates with predictability, efficiency, and stability.
His background on the client side of the attorney-client relationship is expected to shape the firm’s service approach. Having spent nearly two decades as an in-house lawyer dealing with external counsel, he brings a perspective focused on the client’s experience, operational efficiency, and business value creation. “Having a close understanding of the expectations and needs of those who hire legal services allows us to build solutions that are more aligned, efficient, and strategic for clients,” said Luiz Carlos Júnior.
