Machado Meyer advise Hitachi Rail on notification to CADE

Machado Meyer Advogados acted as legal counsel for Hitachi Rail Limited on notification to Cade of the acquisition of 100% of the Ground Transportation Systems global business from Thales.

The transaction will allow Hitachi Rail to be one of the three key players in the railway signaling business, along with Alstom and Siemens. In Brazil, under a conservative perspective, the transaction could entail limited horizontal overlap in Brazil in the urban rail signalling market.

The transaction will be/was also notified to the antitrust authorities of European Union, Canada, China, Israel, Morocco, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, Taiwan, Turkey, the United Kingdom, Vietnam, Common Market for Eastern and Southern Africa (COMESA), Egypt and Indonesia.

The transaction value was R$ 10.489.042.000,00.

Machado Meyer advised Hitachi Rail Limited and relied on partner Maria Eugenia Novis (pictured) and lawyer Thalita de Carvalho Novo.

Clifford Chance Paris also advised the same partie.

Levy & Salomão Advogados advised Thales.
