Machado Meyer advises GPA on the segregation of Éxito

Machado Meyer Advogados advised on the transaction which Grupo Pão de Açúcar (GPA) announced the segregation of its business and that of Almacenes Éxito, a company based in Colombia.

The transaction, valued at R$7.1 billion, involves a capital reduction of GPA with the delivery to its shareholders of Éxito shares in the form of Brazilian Depositary Receipts listed on B3 and American Depositary Receipts to be listed on the New York Stock Exchange.
