Marval advised Turner on Argentine football broadcasting contract
Marval, O’Farrell & Mairal advised media giant Turner on the acquisition of the broadcasting rights of the Argentine football championship.
For over seven years, the Argentinean government had been in charge of broadcasting the Argentine football championship. With the deal, the broadcasting now changes hands to media companies Turner and Fox, which jointly won the bidding for the rights. The joint contract is for five years with a renewable clause for five more. In exchange, the companies will pay the Asociación de Fútbol Argentina approximately $1 billion.
Partners Miguel del Pino, Barbara Ramperti, Daniel Di Paola, Walter Keiniger and Pablo Gayol led the Marval team advising Turner.
Fox instructed Carcavallo, Larrechea & Asociados and Bruchou, Fernández Madero & Lombardi acted for the Argentine Football Association.
