Mattos Filho announces partner to Banking & Financial Services

Mattos Filho has announced that Larissa Arruy (pictured) has rejoined the firm’s Banking & Financial Services practice. After two years as an executive at a fintech, Arruy returns to the firm to reunite with a team responsible for serving various leading players in the financial and payments industry. With her return to the firm’s partnership, Mattos Filho now has a partner count of 139.

With a multidisciplinary approach and market-recognized technical expertise, the Banking & Financial Services practice focuses on matters related to the financial and payments industry, providing advisory and transactional services. The area’s partners and associates possess in-depth knowledge of industry regulations and practices, and maintain close relationships with regulators and industry associations. The practice is also made up of ten lawyers, two of whom are partners Marina Procknor and Paulo Brancher.

Larissa Arruy holds a Bachelor of Laws from the University of São Paulo and a Specialization in Business Administration from the Getulio Vargas Foundation. She has extensive experience in the financial and payment sectors, having worked for important institutions within the industry.

Arruy is experienced in advising financial institutions, payment institutions, fintechs, market infrastructure institutions and other participants in the financial and payments sectors on a wide range of matters. As well as regulatory consulting, she assists with lawsuits involving the Brazilian Central Bank and Brazilian Securities and Exchange Commission (CVM), structuring products and businesses, foreign investments in Brazil, matters involving foreign exchange, derivatives, regulatory compliance, and administrative proceedings. Arruy also works on corporate and capital market transactions involving regulated entities.
