Bocater Advogados announces new partner and opens new area

Bocater, Camargo, Costa e Silva, Rodrigues Advogados announced the arrival of Maurício Jayme e Silva (pictured) as a new partner to lead the newly created Financial and Capital Markets Infrastructures area of the firm.

Acting closely with Bocater’s Capital Markets practice area, the new practice will focus on advising administrators of organized exchange and over-the-counter markets, brokers and distributors of securities, depositaries, custodians, registrars and other financial and capital market infrastructures in matters related to operations, regulation, self-regulation, compliance and enforcement.

Before joining the firm, Maurício worked for over 5 years as a legal manager at BSM Supervisão de Mercados, the entity responsible for self-regulation of the securities markets administered by B3. During this period, he also acted as BSM’s representative at the International Organization of Securities Commissions (IOSCO), monitoring the best practices of transactions supervision, market infrastructure supervision and enforcement, practiced by organized markets managers, regulators and international self-regulators.

Maurício has a law degree from PUC/SP, a master in Administrative Law from the University of São Paulo (USP) and in Banking, Corporate & Finance Law from Fordham Law School (LL.M.), and is a visiting scholar at Columbia Law School. Maurício also holds several national and international courses for organized markets regulators, given by entities such as IOSCO, CFTC and B3.
