Brazilian law firm Mattos Filho announced the arrival of two new partners, Adriano Castello Branco and Luiz Gustavo Bezerra.
Adriano Castello Branco holds a Bachelor of Laws degree from Pontifícia Universidade Católica do Rio de Janeiro, a specialization degree in finance and M&A from New York University, and an LLM from Instituto Brasileiro de Mercado de Capitais. His career includes a stint at Davis Polk in NY as foreign associate and 8 years as associate at Veirano Advogados before holding in-house roles at a number of Brazilian corporations. Castello Branco joins the corporate practice group at Mattos Filho in Rio de Janeiro.
Luiz Gustavo Bezerra has a Bachelor of Laws degree and a specialization degree in oil law from Universidade do Estado do Rio de Janeiro, a degree in environmental law from Pontifícia Universidade Católica do Rio de Janeiro and a degree in administrative contracts from Instituto Brasileiro de Mercado de Capitais, as well as a Master of Laws degree from the University College of London. He is also a professor of environmental law at Fundação Getulio Vargas, Instituto Brasileiro de Mercado de Capitais and Universidade do Estado do Rio de Janeiro.
Bezerra joins the Mattos Filho environment team in Rio. More recently, he was a partner at Motta, Fernandes Rocha Advogados and prior to that, he was a partner at Mayer Brown in Brazil.
