Morales & Besa names Rodrigo Delaveau as counsel

Rodrigo Delaveau has joined the firm as counsel and leader of the Public and Constitutional Law practice area

 Chilean law firm Morales & Besa has announced the appointment of Rodrigo Delaveau as counsel, becoming head of the Public and Constitutional Law practice, effective 7 March 2022.

Rodrigo Delaveau (pictured) has more than 20 years of experience, working in legal practice, law firms and in-house legal counsel in both public and private institutions. He studied law at the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile, where he also obtained a Master in Public Law. He obtained the degrees of JSD and LLM from the University of Chicago and was a recipient of the Russel Baker Scholarship for doctoral study and the Coase Sandor Institute for Law & Economics courses offered by the International Program of the University of Chicago Law School. He is currently Professor of Comparative Constitutional Law at the University of Chicago Law School and Professor of Constitutional Law at the law schools of the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile, Universidad de Chile and Universidad de Los Andes. He is an expert in Constitutional Law, Economic Analysis of Public and Regulatory Law, with experience in Law Reports and Public Litigation. He was a member of the Commission appointed by the Chilean Chamber of Deputies for the drafting of a new Bill of Procedure for the Recurso de Protección. He was elected Alternate Minister of the Constitutional Court of Chile in 2019 and a year later he was appointed co-representative of the Court before the Venice Commission, as well as manager of the agreement signed between the Constitutional Court and the Comparative Constitutions Project.
