NLD assists in sale of a stake in Tierra Hotels to Baillie Lodges

NLD Abogados has assisted the shareholders of Katari, owner of the Tierra luxury hotels, in the sale of a majority stake in Katari to Baillie Lodges, owned by KSL Capital Partners.

The shareholders involved in the transaction were the Purcell family, the Matetic family and other minority shareholders. The Purcell family retained a minority stake in Katari / Tierra Hotels.

Tierra Hotels includes three experiential luxury hotels in extraordinary Chilean destinations – Tierra Patagonia, by Lake Sarmiento in the Torres del Paine National Park; Tierra Atacama, in the Atacama Desert; and Tierra Chiloé, on the island of Chiloé in southern Chile.

Baillie Lodges is a leading global experiential accommodation company with properties in Australia, New Zealand and Canada. Its plan is to expand Tierra’s hotel platform in the coming years through further acquisitions and new developments.

The advisory included coordinating the entire transaction process, negotiating the transaction documentation and conducting the due diligence process.
