Creel García-Cuéllar opens office in Spain

Mexican law firm Creel García-Cuéllar Aiza y Enríquez has announced the opening of its first international office in Europe, located in Madrid, Spain.

This office will provide advice exclusively dedicated to Mexican law and will serve as a conduit for Mexican investors seeking business opportunities in Europe.

The office is scheduled to start operations by the end of January 2023, and will be led by partner Iker Arriola (pictured), with the support of a team of associates and partners.

Iker specialises in Corporate Law and Mergers & Acquisitions, and has a track record of more than 25 years advising on domestic and cross-border transactions, as well as other transactional projects. He also has extensive experience in operational and management matters, having led several of the firm’s strategic initiatives.

Carlos Aiza, senior partner and chairman of the firm’s board of directors, said: “While this is still a modest investment in terms of size, we expect that this initiative will have a significant positive impact in the way we deliver our Mexican law service offering to our European clients conducting business in Mexico, to our Mexican clients conducting business in Europe, and to our dear friends and colleagues from the leading law firms throughout Europe. We have pledged to all of them that we will continue to go out of our way to add value to their endeavors with innovation and creativity, and we are convinced that this is another solid step in that direction. We have full confidence in Iker’s leadership and drive as our office head in Europe.”
