Partners at Barros Letelier Gonzalez in Chile part ways

After almost 50 years in the Chilean market, law firm Barros Letelier Gonzalez has dissolved as the current partners agreed to divide their professional practices from October, 2016.

According to a statement, each partner will keep exercising their professional activities in an independent and collaborative manner.

Enrique Barros, managing partner of legacy Barros Letelier & Gonzalez, will focus on arbitration, legal opinions and advising family companies, as well as on his academic activity.

Max Letelier together with David Nuñez will devote their work to commercial issues, arbitration and competition.

Dispute resolution and competition law experts Francisco González and Andrés Rioseco have launched a highly specialised boutique, González & Rioseco. The partners, who worked for 28 and 12 years respectively at legacy Barros Letelier & González, made the strategic decision to launch the new firm to focus on litigation, arbitration, and competition law and regulated markets.

The new firm launched with 2 partners and 10 associates and will advise a range of international and local clients, with a strong focus on high-end and complex cases in the dispute resolution and competition fields.

Founding partner Francisco González stated: “This was a mutual decision and a completely amicable division. In fact, we look forward to continuing to collaborate with our former partners. At the same time, we are thrilled by the opportunity to build a new firm with a highly specialised practice, consolidating and growing the client base that we developed for almost 30 years. “
