Paulo Varnieri joins Holland & Knight as partner

Ex-general counsel of CCR in the US, joins the firm as a partner

 Holland & Knight has announced the addition of Paulo Varnieri (pictured) as partner in the Washington, D.C. office. Prior to his appointment, he was general counsel of CCR USA, a division of Brazil-based CCR, a Latin American infrastructure company, where he oversaw all legal aspects of the company’s M&A, investment, joint venture, financing and airport development projects in the region.

José Sirven, chair of H&K’s Business section, stated, “Paulo’s practice is multifaceted and spans industries and geographies that are strategic priorities for our clients and our firm […] His addition positions us to increase our work in significant infrastructure projects across the U.S., and his deep experience in Brazil provides our Latin America practice with another seasoned practitioner who can help our clients achieve their strategic objectives in the region”.

Paulo represents clients in connection with cross-border and domestic corporate transactions, including M&A, private equity investments and financings, particularly in the Infrastructure and Transportation sectors in the United States and Latin America. He holds an LL.M. from George Washington University Law School and a law degree from Pontifícia Universidade Católica. In addition, he practiced at three international law firms, both in Sao Paulo (Brazil) and New York City, before joining CCR USA.
