Petrobras names Cerveró’s ex-partner as new legal chief

Petrobras CEO Jean Paul Prates (pictured left) has appointed lawyer Marcelo de Oliveira Mello (pictured center) to head the state-owned company’s legal department.

Mello has worked for the oil company and was a partner in an offshore company owned by Nestor Cerveró (pictured right), the former international director of the state-owned oil company, an admitted defendant in the “Lava Jato” scandal, sentenced to six years in prison for passive corruption and money laundering.
