Mello Torres announces new partner for the mining area

Mello Torres announced Solange Costa (pictured) as a new partner for the mining practice. The lawyer and legal executive has almost 30 years of experience in the sector, having worked in large companies, providing advice on due diligence, contracts, litigation (administrative and judicial), as well as consulting and institutional relations with the main stakeholders of the sector for the mining, environmental and land areas.

From the mining regulatory point of view, he has acted in the main regulatory issues before ANM, representing not only the company in which he worked, but also the main companies of the sector, via IBRAM, contributing greatly with the discussions brought in recent years, including those related to dam safety.

Before joining Mello Torres, Solange led the mining team at Vale (the largest mining company in Brazil and one of the largest in the world), focusing on transactions involving mining contracts, litigation and dam safety. She acted strongly in the Mariana and Brumadinho dam crises.
