Pinheiro Neto elects four new partners for 2025

Pinheiro Neto Advogados has announced the election of four new partners, namely (pictured from left to right) André Santa Ritta, André Torres, Carolina Kiyomi Iwamoto, Luiz Felipe Fleury Vaz Guimarães. They will take office on January 1, 2025.

The election is recognition that these professionals, with outstanding performance in their respective practices, are fully qualified to expand Pinheiro Neto Advogados’ trajectory of success, prominence and leadership.

Meet the new partners:
André Santa Ritta – Corporate M&A, Entertainment, Media and Leisure
and Technology: André advises domestic and foreign clients, particularly in the innovation and technology sectors. His main areas of practice are corporate restructuring, financing operations, joint ventures, open innovation and mergers and acquisitions. He leads the firm’s interdisciplinary area dedicated to the gaming and betting sector, including the transactional, advisory and litigation fronts. He actively participated in the regulation of fixed odds lotteries (bets), and currently represents some of the main operators, suppliers and associations in the segment. André has a law degree from Universidade Federal Fluminense (UFF) and an LL.M. from the University of Chicago.

André Torres – Tax and Higher Courts: André advises national and foreign clients in litigation and consultancy, with a focus on the Higher Courts and the Supreme Court. He stands out for his handling of tax and social security litigation and for coordinating strategic intelligence in these courts. He has experience with special procedures, constitutional proceedings and repetitive judgment systems, as well as working with organizations representing various sectors. André has a law degree from the University of Brasília (UnB), a specialization in Tax Law from the Brazilian Institute of Tax Studies (IBET) and a master’s degree in Economic Law and Development from the Brazilian Institute of Education, Development and Research (IDP). He is a PhD candidate in Law at the University of Brasília (UnB).

Carolina Kiyomi Iwamoto: Corporate Recovery and Bankruptcy: Carolina Kiyomi Iwamoto works on highly complex debt restructuring and corporate recovery cases. She has experience advising investors, national and foreign creditors, as well as large debtors, which gives her the ability to approach cases from a comprehensive negotiating perspective. She has advised clients in central roles in some of the most complex restructuring cases in Brazil, many of which have transnational aspects. She has a law degree from the University of São Paulo (USP) and a master’s degree in Commercial Law, also from USP.

Luiz Felipe Fleury Vaz Guimarães – Capital Markets: Luiz is a capital markets specialist in matters related to publicly traded companies, assisting both issuers (registered or not) and coordinating banks in debt and equity offerings. He has experience in public offerings of securities, as well as mergers and acquisitions, takeovers and strategic transactions. Luiz has led multi-jurisdictional transactions in a wide range of sectors, dealing with sophisticated and innovative offering structures, with discussions involving issuers, holders of debt instruments, shareholders, advisors, regulators, stock exchanges and representatives of publicly traded companies. Luiz holds a law degree from the University of São Paulo (USP) and an LL.M in Corporate Law from the University of Chicago.
