Banco Bradesco has issued its first US$500 million sustainable bond. The bank intends to use part of the proceeds to finance or refinance “green” and “social” projects.

Banco Bradesco is one of the largest private sector commercial banks in operation in Brazil.

Pinheiro Neto Advogados represented Banco Bradesco and included partner Enrico Bentivegna (pictured left), associates Lucas Marinho and Francisca de Almeida Silva Pereira, and legal assistant Gabriel Freitas A. Santos.

Clifford Chance also represented the same party and counted with counsel Anja Pfleger Andrade, associate Krisztián Barta. Trainee Micah McDonald. Paralegal Victoria Weaver.

Machado Meyer Advogados advised Bradesco BBI, BTG Pactual, BNP Paribas, Citigroup, J.P. Morgan, and UBS, which acted as initial purchasers. The office had a partner, Nei Zelmanovits (pictured right), and lawyers Karina Tiaki Momose and Raquel Aguiar Dias Barcelos Coutinho.

Cleary Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton also advised the same party.

Appleby (Cayman) Ltd. was also involved at this deal.
