PPU adds Julián Li as a new partner
Philippi Prietocarrizosa Ferrero DU & Uría has announced the appointment of Julián Li (pictured) as new partner in the Peru office, and has also incorporated three new associates to lead the Water Resources area, which means that the Natural Resources area led by Rafael Lengua will be made up of a team of 9 lawyers.
The appointment was made at the General Assembly of Partners held on 21 July. In this regard, Rafael Boisset, Managing Partner of the Peru office, commented: “With the integration of Julián and his team, we incorporate the practice of Water Resources into our Firm, a specialty that is becoming more relevant every day in our country, and that is transversal to all industries.”
“The regulation of water resources within the Pacific Alliance is becoming increasingly homogeneous. Along these lines, my main motivation for joining PPU is to address this new regional challenge and consolidate our water practice as one of the most important in all of Latin America,” said Julián Li.
Julián is a lawyer from the Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú and has extensive experience in the regulation of water resources for projects in all productive sectors, especially in mining, agriculture, power generation and industry.
He served as director of the Legal Advisory Office of the National Water Authority (Autoridad Nacional del Agua), as an associate in the law firms Rodrigo Elias & Medrano and Lazo & De Romaña, as well as partner in Li & Pazos. He also was a member of the Water Policy Advocacy Group of the Water Resources 2030 Group.
