PPU represents Sumitomo Mitsui in $49m financing to Innergex

Philippi Prietocarrizosa Ferrero DU & Uría has represented Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation, as lender, in the USD $49,500,000 financing granted to Innergex Renewable Energy.

This transaction was signed on 20 April, with Paul Hastings acting as New York counsel to the lender, while Grupo Evans and DLA Piper acted as local and New York counsel to the borrower, respectively.

The funds will be used for the construction of a 35MW/175MWh battery energy storage system (BESS) to be connected to the 51MW San Andres PV plant in Atacama, Chile, owned by San Andres.

Paul Hastings’ team comprised partner Margarita Oliva and associate Juan María Rossato.

Grupo Evans’ team included partner Sebastián Yunge and associate Andrea Duarte.

PPU’s team was led by principal associate and area director Daniel Parodi (pictured), with support from associates Juan Ignacio Rosales, Tomás Canales, Mario Mozó, Mario Fava, Maria Ignacia Silva and Antonio Villarino.
