Prieto Abogados appoints new Environmental director

Prieto Abogados has announced the appointment of Romina Tobar (pictured) as the new head of the firm’s environmental practice, effective from April.

Romina is a specialist in environmental advice to investment projects in all their regulatory stages, with emphasis on energy, aquaculture, infrastructure and mining projects. She has experience in environmental assessment of studies and environmental impact statements in the SEIA, in citizen participation and indigenous consultation processes, in the processing of sectoral permits and in administrative and judicial environmental procedures in general.

Prior to her incorporation, she was head of the legal department of evaluation at the Environmental Evaluation Service, and worked as an associate lawyer in the projects area at Vergara Galindo Correa, and in the environmental area at Correa Gubbins (now Correa Squella).

She holds a law degree from the Universidad de Chile, a diploma in Natural Resources and Energy Law from the Pontificia Universidad Católica and a diploma in Community Relations and Socio-environmental Conflict Prevention from the same university.
