Lourdes Castillo, Carolina Noriega, Diego Pachas and Piero Scarafone

RE&M adds four new partners

Peruvian law firm Rodrigo Elías & Medrano has added four new partners with effect from 2023: Lourdes Castillo Crisóstomo from the Tax practice, Carolina Noriega Ackermann from Oil & Gas, Diego Pachas from Environment and Mining Law, and Piero Scarafone from Natural Resources.

Lourdes Castillo (pictured left) joined the firm in 2011. She is a specialist in tax law with a focus on consulting, planning and dispute resolution. She graduated as a lawyer with honours from the University of Piura and holds a Master’s degree in International Taxation from New York University School of Law.

Carolina Noriega (pictured centre, left) is an oil and gas specialist with an emphasis on transactional matters. She joined Estudio Rodrigo in 2016, and previously worked as an associate at Estudio Muñiz. She is a lawyer from the University of Lima and holds a Master’s degree in Energy Management with a specialisation in Natural Gas from ESAN University.

Diego Pachas (pictured right) is a specialist in mining and environmental law. He advises several international and national companies on the financing and development of mining projects in Peru. He joined the firm in 2008. He is a magna cum laude lawyer from the University of Lima, holds diplomas in Mining Law and Environmental Regulation, as well as an LLM with a specialisation in Natural Resources and Environment from Stanford University.

Piero Scarafone (pictured centre, right) is a hydrocarbons specialist, with an emphasis on transactional and regulatory issues. He joined Estudio Rodrigo in 2016, previously at Estudio Muñiz. He holds a law degree from Universidad de Lima, and a Master of Laws in Global Energy, International Arbitration and Environmental Law from the University of Texas.
