Riverwood instructed Simpson Thacher on Brazilian investment

Simpson Thacher & Bartlett advised Riverwood Capital on its investment in 99, a Brazilian hail-ride provider. 

Riverwood Capital is a private equity firm that invests in high growth technology companies. The company has offices in Menlo Park, New York and São Paolo.

99 (formerly 99 Taxis) is Brazil’s largest local shared mobility provider, offering app-based on-demand private car and taxi hailing services. Riverwood is investing in 99 together with Chinese ride-hail service Didi Chuxing, to fund its growth plan, R&D roadmap and expanded services.
