Santos Neto advises Zen-Noh on Grupo Cereal stake

Santos Neto Advogados advised Zen-Noh, a Japanese trading company, on its acquisition of a 30% stake in Grupo Cereal, a Brazilian agribusiness company based in Rio Verde, Goiás, that operates in grain origination, agricultural inputs and biofuel production. Under the agreement, Grupo Cereal will retain a 70% shareholding and will continue to oversee the company’s strategic direction and operations.

The transaction is intended to strengthen ties between Brazilian agricultural output and Asian markets and to support the expansion plans of Zen-Noh Brasil, a subsidiary of the U.S.-based Zen-Noh Grain Corporation (ZGC), which is part of Japan’s Zen-Noh, a federation comprising 935 agricultural cooperatives.

The Santos Neto Advogados team advising on the transaction was led by partner Bruno Salama, together with associates Calvin Yugo Horiuti Kitahara and Laura Sandrault Scassa, and intern Giovanna Corrêa Bortoncello.
