Souto Correa advises EB Capital on investment in Cótica Energia

Souto Correa advised EB Capital on the negotiation and execution of an investment agreement with Cótica Energia to establish a joint venture to develop and expand biomethane and biogas plants in Brazil, focusing on biogas and its potential as a sustainable alternative to conventional energy sources.

The transaction is in line with EB Capital’s commitment to fostering growth in the renewable energy market and investments in infrastructure and clean energy.

The initial facilities to be developed will have the capacity to produce biogas from waste, with an estimated daily production of 15,000 m³ of biomethane and biogas and the potential to expand up to 30,000 m³ per day in the coming years.

Initial production will be marketed with third parties, such as the Brazilian company Sulgás, which supplies biogas to the petrochemical complex in Triunfo, Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil.

Souto Correa advised EB Capital and relied on partners Mauricio Paschoal (pictured left), Livia Amorim (pictured right), associates Thiago Vasconcellos, Erika Donin, Isabela Marzullo and Arthur Lordosa.

In-house counsel: Gabriela Elian.

Zugno & Peña Advogados advised Cótica Energia and relied on lead partner Guilherme Zugno and associate Nathalia Steffen.
