Souto Correa strengthens áreas with a new partner and counsels

Souto Correa announced the addition of Luciana Sakamoto (pictured left) to bolster the life sciences & healthcare team. With 17 years of experience at Pinheiro Neto Advogados, Luciana has advised national and international clients, and participated in some of the largest M&A transactions involving health insurance providers, including UHG and Amil, AON and Admix, and Bupa and CarePlus.

As the leader of our Healthcare practice, Luciana will navigate contentious, advisory, and regulatory challenges pertaining to health insurance plans, Healthtechs, and related areas such as labor, M&A, life sciences, and tax.

In the administrative and regulatory area, Souto Correa welcomed Eduardo Evangelista (pictured center) as counsel. Former partner at Siqueira Castro and with a previous stint at Advocacia Waltenberg, Eduardo specializes in regulatory matters concerning generation, transmission, distribution, commercialization, and consumption of electric energy. His expertise enhances our ability to provide innovative legal solutions for the dynamic and complex challenges of the energy sector.

Finally, Souto Correa also announced the promotion of Fabiana Figueiró (pictured right) to the partnership, effective from January 1, 2024, taking the tally to 29. A specialist in Environmental Law, Fabiana has been with Souto Correa since its foundation in 2013, leading the practice for almost 10 years.

Fabiana brings extensive experience in environmental licensing, contaminated areas, solid waste and reverse logistics, basic sanitation, real estate constructions, water resources and protected areas, with a strong presence in the cellulose and paper industries. She is also recognized for her work in corporate institutions and think-tanks, participating in councils and committees responsible for the development of public environmental policies and discussions of environmental issues at the regional and national levels.
