Tauil & Chequer advises Eneva on closing LNG contract for Suzano

The energy practice area of Tauil & Chequer Advogados, represented by partner Débora Yanasse (pictured) and associate Lívia Seabra, assisted Eneva in drafting and negotiating an unprecedented contract for the purchase and sale of Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) by small-scale road transport with Suzano.
This is Eneva’s first LNG supply contract with an industrial client. The natural gas produced by Eneva at the Parnaíba Complex, in Santo Antônio dos Lopes (Maranhão), will be liquefied and transported by cryogenic trucks to Suzano’s pulp mill in Imperatriz (MA), where it will be regasified and used as an industrial input, replacing the use of fuel oil and thus contributing to the reduction of carbon emissions.
