TozziniFreire and Mattos Filho on loan to União Quimica by IFC

TozziniFreire have acted as special Brazilian counsel of the International Finance Corporation (IFC) in a BRL 330 million financing to União Química Farmacêutica Nacional, wich was advised by Mattos Filho.

The loan will contribute to the expansion of União Química’s production capacity, as well as to União Química’s vaccine infrastructure and energy efficiency projects.

The proceeds of the loan will be used to modernize plants and to boost the production of vaccines and medicines. União Química intends to join the international vaccination system, and to offer immunizers to Latin American countries.

Finally, the financing is part of IFC’s efforts to boost the production of vaccines and medicines in Latin America, a strategic sector to IFC, which has committed US$ 4.4 billion to Brazilian companies in the fiscal year of 2022.
