TozziniFreire and Pinheiro Neto on CPFL Energia’s debenture issue
TozziniFreire acted as a Brazilian counsel to the issuer on issuance of simple unsecured debentures, with additional corporate guarantee by CPFL Energia, in a single series, for public distribution, by the issuer, in the total amount of BRL 380 million, publicly offered by Banco Bradesco BBI, which was advised by Pinheiro Neto Advogados.
The transaction was carried out in a short term (in less than two months), and the issuance represents another step in the Issuer’s operational and financial growth.
The Issuer is a company from the CPFL Energia group, which is a complete energy group that operates in distribution, generation, transmission, services businesses and commercialization of electricity, in all regions of the country. CPFL is the largest distributor in terms of volume of energy sold with a 13% share of the national market, serving approximately 10.7 million customers in 687 municipalities. With 4,226 installed capacities, it is the third largest private generator in the country, operating in hydroelectric, solar, wind and biomass sources.
