Trench Rossi Watanabe announces two new partners
Trench Rossi Watanabe has announced the hiring of Cristina Bueno (pictured left) and Vitor Stern (pictured right) to join the firm’s roster of partners, further strengthening the transactional group, specifically the M&A and private equity area.
This expansion is the result of Trench Rossi Watanabe’s commitment and strategy to invest in improving its transactional practices, which are key to the firm’s continued growth. The combination of in-house talent and lateral partners recognized in the market means that the firm’s practice in corporate, mergers & acquisitions and private equity transactions, capital markets, banking and finance, investment fund structuring, securitization and asset management is one of the main pillars of its success.
Over the last decade, in response to client demands and market trends, the strategy of strengthening the banking and finance, capital markets, investment funds, securitization and asset management practices has been driven by the hiring of lateral partners who are benchmarks in these areas. Representing another step in this evolution, the firm celebrates the arrival of Cristina and Vitor, whose skills bring a new dimension to the already robust M&A and Private Equity team.
With the arrival of Cristina and Vitor, the number of partners at Trench Rossi Watanabe has risen to 60, a further reflection of the firm’s commitment, investment and evolution to improve the service it provides to its clients.
Cristina de Freitas Bueno has over 25 years’ professional experience, with a solid track record in M&A transactions. The partner also brings valuable experience in the financial sector, where she worked for more than 15 years as an investment banker. During this period, she worked for renowned international financial institutions, such as Goldman Sachs, with activities in Brazil, London and New York, as well as Standard Bank and UBS. Before joining Trench Rossi Watanabe, Cristina was a partner at another law firm, consolidating her reputation as a leading professional in the market. The new partner has a law degree from USP and a business administration degree from FGV.
Vitor Jabbur Stern worked as an international associate at one of New York’s most prestigious law firms during 2016 and 2017, broadening his experience in a highly demanding environment. With a career that includes 14 years of law firm practice, Vitor has developed significant expertise in coordinating deals involving multiple jurisdictions, standing out for his ability to handle complex and challenging operations. The new partner has a law degree from UFRJ and an LL.M. from the renowned Law School of the University of Rio de Janeiro.
