Two firms acted on the SIMgular’s sale to It’sSeg Company
Freitas Ferraz Advogados advised SIMgular, a company focused on corporate benefits management, specialized in health and dental, on its sale to It’sSeg Company, an insurance company controlled by Acrisure, an american company, operating in over 20 countries. The buyer, in turn, was assisted by the law firm Mattos Filho.
The operation was completed on May 2nd, 2024, and it is the 13th acquisition for It’sSeg since the company was founded 10 years ago by executive Thomaz Menezes, former CEO of brokerage firm Marsh and insurer SulAmerica.
The transaction continues It’sSeg’s strategy to act as a market consolidator, focusing on independent insurance and benefits brokers. SIMgular, the target of the new association, was founded in 2020, headquartered in Belo Horizonte/MG (Brazil), and has a portfolio of 150 thousand lives, distributed in the corporate niche among approximately 100 large clients, with annual premiums of R$ 300 million.
Leading the case for Freitas Ferraz were the partners Bernardo Freitas (pictured left) and Thiago Braichi, (pictured center) along with the lawyers Pedro Vidigal, Júlia Barreto, Bruna Frasson, João Cesconi, Laura Karam, and Sarah Partika.
For Mattos Filho, partner Eduardo Marques (pictured right), Tomás Machado de Oliveira and associates Beatriz Fraga, Luca Codazzi, Luis Guilherme Camargo Vergueiro da Silva, Lorena Coelho Robinson were involved.
